Meet Devan
Hi, I’m Devan (she/her), founder of Good Energy Therapy.
If you’ve been feeling stuck in your head, overwhelmed by your thoughts, or repeating the same patterns in relationships, work, or daily life— you’re not alone! A lot of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside, but internally they’re anxious, overthinking, emotionally drained, or unsure how to actually create change.
That’s where I come in.
My style is warm, direct, collaborative, and with just enough humor to keep things real. I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods and says “how does that make you feel?” We’re going to talk, reflect, challenge patterns, and actually do the work so you can start showing up differently in your life.
Together, we’ll focus on:
Getting out of cycles of overthinking and self-doubt
Understanding and shifting patterns in relationships
Building emotional awareness and regulation
Creating practical, sustainable changes that improve your day-to-day life
I pull from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed work, but more importantly, I tailor everything to you. Therapy with me is about finding what actually works in your own life.
On a more personal note…
Outside of therapy, I’m usually curled up with a good book (I love Kennedy Ryan novels!), trying new restaurants, exploring the city, or playing with my dog Bubba who keeps me grounded and entertained.
I’m a Black, queer-identified therapist, and I bring that lived experience into the room. I care deeply about helping people feel seen, understood, and supported as they navigate anxiety, depression, identity, and complex life experiences. I believe healing happens in true connection—and that the relationship we build in therapy can be a powerful starting point for change.
At the end of the day, therapy with me is a partnership. You don’t have to have it all figured out—you just have to be open to starting!
If this feels like the kind of space you’ve been looking for, I’d love to connect. Let’s set up a free consultation and see if we’re a good fit.
